Soon after launching our new number it didn't take long for Cabcharge or one of their associated businesses to start to complain.

Taxi Wide 131 008 are crying foul play at us being allowed to use a number (ironically one which it appears we out-bid them for) as it is so close to their own number and, they suspect, receives thousands of calls for taxis or other transport services.

Paul Misfud, CEO of Taxi Australia 131 008, asserts in the SMH NYE 2011, "Ecotaxi has already been stopped using the logo..." well from the article and the photo above you can see that just isn't true! What we did do was to allow the new Licensee of the number in Sydney to put in place a temporary logo whilst the matter proceeds to court.

Cabcharge, nor Taxi Wide Australia, who receive over 30 million in-bound calls per annum through their 131 008 number seem to want to take the mater to court and proclaim to all within the industry that I've been stopped using the logo. Well let's see just how much publicity we need to get before they actually do have the matter before the court where they are repeatedly threatening to take us.

131 007 Pty is a new entity independent of our former ventures (I almost sound like Cabcharge there, trying to pretend there are more competitors in the market by using different company names) and is also a Platinum Sponsor at the world class venue, Allphones Arena

so... the NYE offer !

If you see either of the hybrid promo cars (and for THE best hybrid deals go to toyotahybridonline.com.au) in or around the Sydney CBD flag them down and if vacant please accept our free rides offer to any trip within 5kms of the CBD. We also have client courtesy buses for NYE and any company who wishes to become a client or a 131 007 account client (soon to be the new 131 007 CARD : a serious alternative to Cabcharge) please email us through the contact us page.

THE NYE FREE-RIDES campaign is only on a "Flag down the promo cars" basis - which do not display any taxi livery and do display the "all-offending" logo as above. Clients cannot pre-book the FREE RIDES vehicles for NYE (wish we had the resource to spread more Christmas and New Years good will - maybe next year? Watch this space!)

Standard taxis at normal taxi rates can be booked by calling 131 007 and pressing 1.

For guaranteed limousine bookings the best way to book is through our on-line booking page or you may also dial 131  007 and press 2.

Accounts inquiries please dial 131 007 and press 7 and if unanswered (VERY busy NYE), please leave a message.

ELECTRIC ROLLS ROYCE

LIMO TO BE UNVEILED AT

THE GENEVA MOTOR SHOW

FEB 21 2011

After months of speculation, the waiting is over, as Rolls Royce has confirmed that they will debut their experimental limo at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. The Phantom Experimental Electric car, codenamed EXP 102, will make its first public appearance at the motor show, before being whisked off on a world tour taking in Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

During its whistle-stop tour the electric limo will be given to Rolls Royce owners as well as media representatives who will test driver the vehicle. The luxury brand hopes to receive useful feedback from the planned test drives which will help to shape the finished product.

The electric Phantom is the first battery powered electric car designed for the ultra luxury market. The swanky limo can be recharged from a domestic mains electric power point, and produces zero emissions so it’s very environmentally friendly.

However all of this green power comes at a cost. While the fuel powered Phantom will set you back approximately £300,000 and achieves around 15 miles to the gallon, the experimental electric Phantom costs just 2p per mile to run, but its cost is likely to be closer to £1 million.

For the last 2 years there’s been mounting speculation that the luxury car maker was in the process of developing a secret electric limo.

Rolls Royce confirmed in a statement that the one-off electric limo will makes its debut at the Geneva Motor Show on March 1st.

The ride was superb and whilst power delivery is not a key factor for our industry the direct and instant power of the Tesla motor was incredible. In addition, it's obvious striking looks and low servicing requirements make acquisition of such a vehicle an easy proposition. We certainly have the right environmentally conscious clients to make to vehicle viable from a business perspective."
